We are not in the business of fulfilling requests for documents for use in legal matters. Our collections are available at no cost via archive.
As a nonprofit, our resources are limited, and processing affidavit document requests involve significant time and effort that we would prefer be devoted more directly towards our mission.
Please remember that a declaration or affidavit from the Internet Archive may not be necessary. Before asking the Internet Archive to authenticate your documents, we ask that you please seek judicial notice or simply ask your opposing party to stipulate to the documents' authenticity. Of course, the best source of such information is the party who posted the information on the URLs at issue, and the second-best source of such information is someone who actually accessed the historical versions of the URLs.
However, if you are determined to obtain a declaration or affidavit authenticating printouts from the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, we will do our best to help you in accordance with this policy. To initiate your request, you must send us payment as described below and an electronic list of the extended URLs for each page you would like us to print out.
By extended URL, we are referring to the full URL that appears in the Address field of your Web browser when you are looking at the page of interest e. If you want more than one page from a particular domain, you must supply the extended URL for each page. You can see our Model Affidavit. Can the affidavit be notarized? Can the Internet Archive change its standard affidavit to fit my needs? Can the Internet Archive provide all pages from a specified domain? Does the Internet Archive limit the number of documents I can request at one time? Does the Internet Archive guarantee a turnaround time for responses to requests? When I send my payment, how will you know that my payment relates to my request?
Where do I send questions about your information request policy? Will the Internet Archive take a position in my legal dispute? I need an affidavit for a case taking place outside of the United States. Are all the pages associated with a site archived on the same date? Eigentlich recht einfach. All rights reserved. No other license mentioned. If I go to sci-hub. One of them is legal and one is not, apparently.
I assume that there is an agreement between the University of Chicago Press and JStor, so they can distribute it on the internet, but not one between the University of Chicago Press and Sci-Hub.
Anyway, it's a private contract between these two parties that I cannot see and audit. Am I supposed to ask for this contract every time I download a paper? It isn't admirable. Those who aspire to the academic life should also aspire to high standards of conduct.

I actually tried quite hard to keep my personal views on the matter out of the answer and focus on the facts. As long as you don't get caught, you are unlikely to get in trouble This is true for pretty much everything you can do that might get you in trouble.

While you say some interesting things here you are still advocating unethical behavior. Sadly it seems others here seem to agree that this is ok.
It is not. Buffy I agree with you and in a perfect world everyone would act ethically and be happy. But the market for textbooks where poor students are forced by state-regulated and partially state-funded universities to get deeper into debt to government to buy specific textbooks sounds pretty inefficient to me and far from ethical either.
Let people innovate and form a better market. Is a pay-first-read-later book the dead end for written knowledge? Hopefully not.
Let them innovate and come up with a better market structure I say! I agree with your immediate comment, if not your answer. Yes, work to build a better world in all ways open to you. I note that someone else's unethical behavior doesn't justify mine. And yes, I realize you didn't say otherwise, so just an observation. EladDen lucky you, these statistics say — Arthur Tarasov.
ArthurTarasov Not lucky, smart. Go to the library, it has books, if it doesn't have what you need, go to your supervisors, they have funds. Show 3 more comments. Buffy Buffy k 60 60 gold badges silver badges bronze badges. Find a Lawyer. Law Students. US Federal Law. US State Law. Other Databases.
